Stolen taxidermic dingo, leopard returned to museum

It was a journey there and back again for two taxidermic animals -- an Australian dingo and an African leopard -- that were stolen from the front display case of the Buena Vista Natural History Museum Tuesday night.
Bakersfield Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Mary DeGeare said police were able to locate and return both specimens to their home on Chester Avenue Wednesday morning -- but not without a minor case of mistaken identity.
